The Big Fat Industries™ are the fast food, soft drink and junk food industries.
The Big Fat Industries™' target children with billions of dollars of advertising that encourages the excessive consumption of their products, instead of doing the responsible thing and promoting moderation. These industries are in large part responsible for our nation's childhood obesity epidemic that is growing out of control.
This website is about holding these industries accountable. We’re educating people, particularly kids and parents, about how Big Fat Industries™ target kids and manipulate, bribe and peer pressure them into consuming as much of their products as possible - which can lead to serious health and life risks.
‘Big Fat Industries’ is a term coined by dewey & associates, national childhood obesity and teen tobacco prevention experts. To learn more about dewey & associates' social marketing work, please click here.
It should be noted the self-proclaimed good folks at dewey & associates (creators of this website) love the McDonald's sausage biscuit, Burger King fried chicken sandwich, the hard shell tacos at Taco Bell, and Mt. Dew - we love Mt. Dew. Our point as experts in childhood obesity not that you cannot eat and drink this stuff, you just have to do it in moderation, which is not what Big Fat Industries promote. Consuming the products of the Big Fat Industries™ in any way other than moderation has serious health and life risks for many people.
